It’s true … Vampires in literature are making a revival. I’ve seen them come and go in waves for most of my life. Sometimes readers love Vampires and there’s an upsurge and then the market gets so flooded that the publishers don’t want it anymore. But I’ve always loved vampire fiction and for me this is a welcome return.
That said, the lovely folks at Telos Publishing are doing a deal on my award winning THE VAMPIRE GENE Series (written under the pen name SAM STONE) and KILLING KISS, book #1, is available on kindle for just 99p for a while.
The series runs to 6 books currently and I’m planning to begin work on the long awaited 7th, MIDNIGHT MASKERADE, later this year. So it’s encouraging to see such an upsurge of interest in the series from new and long standing loyal readers.
If you want to know more about it, then this is how I have always described the series “QUEEN OF THE DAMNED meets QUANTUM LEAP with a dash of HELLRAISER” – but don’t worry, this is not me ripping off other people’s ideas. What this description tells you is what this series FEELS like. That this is a very different series and no book is the same within it. We have horror, fantasy/horror mixed, fantasy, myth and magic, time travel, biblical history that I enjoy playing fast and loose with, and on top of that, we have the knights templar and ley line magic.
Seriously … what’s not to like?
So if you’re here today, checking out my latest news, then this is a tiny investiment to see if you like my first vampire, Gabriele Caccini. He’s a bad boy – so be warned. This is not romance, but there are relationships within it. And in this first book, I’m exploring how if feels to live forever while those around you age and die.
About KILLING KISS.
The first book in the thrilling, highly acclaimed Vampire Gene series, mixing horror, dark fantasy and a slice of science fiction, in a definitive new edition from Telos Publishing.
He’s looking for a girl; not just any girl, and dark-haired, brown-eyed Carolyn is the one.
But does Gabriele Caccini, a student at Manchester University, really know what he wants? When a beautiful curvaceous blonde comes into his life he starts to question his motives and emotions; even a 17th Century vampire can do that.
Alone in the modern world, limiting his feeds to one a year to avoid detection, Gabriele reflects on the origins of his immortality and questions why it is he who should have the vampire gene, when over four hundred women have not survived his killing kiss …
But at a house party, a fellow student spikes Gabriele’s drink with drugs and his self-indulgent musings are suddenly turned upside down.
